In my Sketchbooks lately

The last couple of months have been full of creativity - I can safely say I have more ideas than time to complete them at the moment!

After my recent trip to Cornwall, my day at Chelsea Flower Show, days at Kew and tending to my own growing garden, my camera roll is full to the brim of inspiration. Thousands and thousands of photos of florals, plants and gardens are organised in to folders and I’m very slowly working my way through them.

When I’m drawing from these images, I’m thinking about the new things I want to create. I’ve been thinking of opening a Paper Goods shop for a while now, but I’m taking my time figuring out what I want that to look like, and the types of products I want to sell. My ideas are slowly coming together and I can see connections between the different styles I’m working in. I’ve even started to mock-up some actual product designs so I’m gradually making progress! Hopefully in the not too distant future, some of these drawings will end up on greetings cards, letter writing sets and art prints. As well as these drawings in my sketchbooks, I’ve been continuing with my quick timer drawings on newsprint, and experimenting with painting in new styles (I’ll share more about those soon!)
