A day at Wisley

I first visited RHS Wisley in March 2020, just before lockdowns started. For 2 years I kept saying that one day I would go with my sketchbook and do some drawing. Despite several visits during those 2 visits (in between lockdowns), I never actually did that. My first trip to Kew this January was the first time in years that I had drawn from life, or drawn in public at all. Its quickly become my favourite thing to do and I can’t believe I spent so long not doing it! So of course, when I returned to Wisley a few weeks ago I finally kept that promise to myself, and I took a sketchbook and spent some time drawing the flowers.

It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining (unlike my recent days at Kew which have been rainy and grey!), everything was in full bloom and there was beautiful colours everywhere.

I didn’t have too long this time as we were meeting someone for lunch, but I made the most of my 2 hours and filled a few pages of my sketchbook and took plenty of photos for future drawings too.
